Cabbage Hill Preserve This 112-acre preserve is a mixture of hayfields, meadows, and forestswithmowed hiking trailscovering approximately1.5 miles. The trail is easy in difficulty, startingin a small fieldand followingmowed paths through the property. Threatened grassland birds such as Bobolinks nest in the hayfield, and a local farmer cuts hay with the first cut taken after July 15 to allow time for young birds to fledge. Additional features include a hayfield on a hill that rises to an elevation of 750 feet, Bosworth Brook flowing through the southern portion, andhabitat for many birds and other wildlife. The preserve also includesan old cemeterywithin its boundaries.
