Button Bay Trail is an easy hike covering 1.4 miles with minimal elevation gain of 42 feet. The Button Point Trail leads to the end of the point at the edge of Lake Champlain, while the Champlain Trail begins at the nature center and follows near the eastern shore of the lake. Key scenery includes views of Lake Champlain and the wooden alcoves positioned along the water, with visible islands and mountains behind the lake. Visitors can explore the Button Point Natural Area, a small mature hardwood forest. The park is named for the button-like concretions formed by clay deposits found along the shoreline.
