This hike, known as Burlingame North, is mostly on closed off access roads of the Burlingame Management Area which makes for a nice and easy walk. It is a 3.1-mile loop trail thatis generally considered a moderately challenging route, taking an average of 1 hour 11 minutes to complete. The hike starts from a small parking area by a gate on Buckeye Brook Road, where hikers can expectpleasant forest and pond viewsas well asan opportunity to see wildflowers. The area includes ruins of an aband oned camp on the north end of Watchaug Pond, with an old decaying structure visible from the trail. Challenges include muddy spots and a few steep hills, anddogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
