Bruce Freeman Rail Trail – Hudson Rd, Sudbury, MAThis is an easy trail that covers 5.4 miles as an out-and-back route, making it accessible for walkers, runners, and cyclists of all levels. The 10-foot-wide paved multi-use trail is available for walking, running, biking, rollerblading, and other non-motorized uses. Phase 2D in Sudbury extends 4.9 miles from Powder Mill Road in Concord to the Mass Central Rail Trail—Wayside in Sudbury, and was opened to public use in June 2025. The trail follows the right-of-way of the aband oned Framingham and Lowell Line of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad. The path winds through conservation areas featuring wetlands, forests, rivers, brooks, bridges, and historic sites, with opportunities to watch for wildlife such as ducks, swans, and turtles. The trail is open to non-motorized uses such as cycling, jogging, walking, rollerblading, and skiing, making it ideal for year-round recreation.
