Bromley Mountain via Long Trail is a 5.8-mile out-and-back trail near Peru, Vermont that is generally considered moderately challenging, taking an average of 3 hours 9 minutes to complete. The trail climbs to a 3,260-foot summit where a 40-foot-tall steel observation tower offers sweeping views of Killington, Okemo, Stratton, and Glastenbury mountains. The route follows the Long Trail up the side of Bromley Mountain and eventually climbs a ski run to the summit, withgrassy, open ski trails providing a pleasant spot to relax and eat lunch. Just shy of 2 miles from the trailhead, a spur trail leads down to the Bromley Shelter, a good place for lunch or overnight camping. This is a very popular area for backpacking, birding, and camping, andthe trail is open year-round and beautiful to visit anytime.
