The easiest option is a 2.6-mile loop trail generally considered easy that takes about an hour to complete, thoughmoderate trails like South Ridge (0.63 miles) and The Lookout Trail (1.05 miles) are also available. The forest rises over Merrymeeting Lake with views of multiple nearby mountains and Mount Washington on clear days. Wildlife viewing opportunities include moose, bear, deer, and bobcat, along with vernal pools, streams, a 25-acre beaver pond, and Coldrain Pond. The property is open for hiking, hunting, mountain biking, wildlife watching, cross-country skiing/snowshoeing, and snowmobiling on State Corridor Trail 22.
