Betsey Dodge Conservation Area offers an easy, rolling walk around a pond and through the woods, with trails continuing along the Piscataquog River. The main trail is a 2.2-mile loop, making it suitable for hikers of all abilities. The conservation area combines high and low vantage points of the river, a woodland road, a short esker, a nest of glacial erratics, a pond shoreline and a high-ground field. Wildlife viewing opportunities are abundant, including bear scratches on beech trees, otter slides, pileated woodpeckers, beaver activity, migrating waterfowl, turtles, and wildflowers, withthe resident beaver offering sightings during favorable conditions. Parking is located on Saunders Hill Road, just west of its intersection with Tucker Mill Road.
