Bartell Trail Head, Brookline, NHThis excellent hiking trail system features trails ranging from very easy to moderately difficult, withthe Bartell trail starting out very wide and branching into more than a dozen trails throughout the forest. The most popular 2.1-mile loop trail is generally considered a moderately challenging route, taking an average of 52 minutes to complete, thoughthe Bartell trail itself is easy and stroller friendly with one hill and otherwise flatish terrain. The Bartell trail leads to the rail trail, and followers can explore the rail trail through swamps, by ponds with old cabins and dams, beautiful little bridges, rock formations and woods. The park is known for its beautiful woodlands, historic stone foundations, and small wetlands areas, andthe area supports hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing on some trails, and snowmobiles in certain areas.
