Barrett Preserve offers easy to moderate difficulty hiking on interconnected loop trails totaling 1.6 miles, featuringfinely groomed grass paths that transition into a wooded hillside of oak, hickory, and black birch. The preserve includes a wetland area with towering tulip trees, two stream crossings, a rich understory of mountain laurel, and carpets of hay-scented fern. Wildlife viewing opportunities include multiple bird species such as bluebirds, woodpeckers, hawks, and owls, along with ground animals like squirrels and chipmunks. A scenic bench overlooks the stream, andthe preserve was established in 1994.
