Ashland State Park spans 470 acres of forestand features a popular 3.5-mile hiking trail around the reservoir that is visited year-round. The Ashland Reservoir Trail is considered a moderate hike, andit winds through forests and over the Ashland Dam as it veers around the reservoir’s perimeter, with the highlight being crossing the dam which offers breathtaking views of the reservoir and the forest below. The ground is uneven, with dirt trails covered in tree roots and rocky areas that require cautious footing. The park operates seasonally between Memorial Day and Labor Day and offers hiking, swimming, fishing, mountain biking, and boating.
